Photographic curiosities

Some quirky pictures collected during our stay in Shanghai (see captions):

Restaurant welcome sign.
If we had post boxes like these we might write more letters.

We didnt go to this one!
Conscientious student

Quail's eggs being sold still in their salt casing where they were cooked.
Dancing in the park - ballroom dancing to a heavy disco beat !
Typical tiny shop in the older streets - this is the whole shop!
The fabric market - get anything you like made here.
Liz being arrested in the cloth market? No just signing up for a nice tailor made jacket.
A new giant growing in Pudong - visible from everywhere.
Street dudes! - Fortunately most Chinese people dont look as scary as this.
An interesting Xinjiang character.
Tiger! Perhaps there is something really offensive to cats written on there?

Commonplace scene at junctions - no way of knowing who gives way to whom - no road rage incurred either.
Such a useful combination.

Shops with everything you want - or they will make it.
Bamboo still a material of choice for scaffolding, even in Shanghai
8pm - still hard at work
