Now we are already home but with a backlog of unblogged travels from 7th Feb onwards. Since we will now be able to see many of you in person, this will be mostly photos and captions.
Although we have enjoyed our travels very much, it is quite nice to be in our own house and know that we have not got to plan any more explorations or hotels. The winter-avoidance plan worked out really well. We have returned to nice spring weather and even had lunch in the garden.
Now to get down to some serious retirement. We are also going to start planning a permanent relocation - a house move to a location no longer dependant on work opportunities. Preferably a less crowded area than Hampshire but with more of a community centre than we have at present, but that is another adventure.
Charlie and Liz are off to Shanghai on 25 Oct 2013 to visit Oliver and Sasa again and this time for the exciting arrival of our first grandchild! We are extending the journey by returning to the UK via Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Texas returning on 15th Mar 2014. This has been dubbed our 'gap year' by one of our friends, since it falls between work and retirement! So here we go.....
